Last Tuesday, SHS Building Trades students attended the Air National Guard Career Fair. There, they learned about the multitude of job and college options offered to part-time service members. The National Guard offers job training as well as free college. Our students are given so many options to build their futures. #WeAreSR3. #SR3Family

SHS Building Trades students recently attended the "I—Build Expo" in Kansas City. This career fair, sponsored by some of the biggest trade employers in the area, encourages students to think of a future in a wide variety of skilled labor. Students had access to all of the major trade unions, could participate in hands-on learning, and talked to pros about their jobs. Our students are shown many paths for their futures. #WeAreSR3 #SR3Family

Several of Ms. Bretz's students wanted to celebrate our freshman who placed 3rd at State wrestling, so they threw him a surprise donut party! This is what makes SAVANNAH KIDS the best kind of kids. 😉 🖤💛 #WeAreSR3 #SR3Family

Every February, our Middle Schoolers are given the opportunity to go on a Blind 😍 Date...with a book! Our Librarian pulls books off the shelf, wraps them up, and puts descriptive words about the book on the front. Students look for descriptors that interest them and check them out (without being able to judge the book by its cover 😉). While they read the book, they fill out a recommendation sheet. When they've finished the book, they turn in the recommendation with what they rate the book, one to five stars. All the top-rated books are then displayed for others to check out! It's really a lot of fun! #WeAreSR3 #SR3Family

Last week, our Building Trades Class teamed up with members of the Electricians Local 545 to learn through hands-on experience doing rough-in wiring on our project house. Students pulled runs of wire all day long, climbed in the crawlspace and attic, and worked getting the house closer to completion. They learned a lot, and we are so grateful that these pros gave their own time to help our students improve their skills. #SR3Family #WeAreSR3
