Wednesday, March 10, the Savannah FFA Chapter held their annual Supporter Breakfast. The FFA was worried about potentially not being able to hold the breakfast due to the circumstances but they were able to and it was a great success.

The FFA decided to serve biscuits and gravy along with eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, as well as juice and coffee. The breakfast is a way for the students to show their appreciation for the community around them and how much their support means to them. The breakfast was open to any supporters that wanted breakfast and over 120 people attended.

“While the number of people was down from normal years, we were planning for that and I was very pleased with the overall turnout,” FFA advisor Mrs. Jessica Aeschliman said.

While the breakfast was a great success it's not the only great success that the FFA chapter has had recently. The FFA takes part in Leadership Development Events and the members that are taking part in those leadership development events have done very well.

At the area level juniors Morgan Heckman and Ella Jordan placed second in Advanced Speaking and third in Job Interview, respectively, and freshmen Quentin Miller and Payton Rodgers placed first in Division I speaking and third in FFA Creed Speaking, respectively. This upcoming Monday, March 22, those speakers will be competing at the District level hoping to move forward to State.

Not only are the Leadership Development Events wrapping up, so are the Career Development Events with the first set of Districts taking place on Wednesday, March 17

“It feels good that all the hard work that I put in is paying off,” Jordan said.

Savannah High School wishes the best of luck to both Leadership and Career Development Event competitors and thank the FFA for all they do.
