Winter Homecoming

Savannah High School just recently had their basketball Courtwarming on Friday, Feb. 4. Throughout the week, the students and staff celebrated with daily dress-up themes, classroom door and hallway decorations and a semi-formal dance on Saturday, Feb. 5.  This year’s Courtwarming theme was: Rockin’ Through the Decades.

The basketball games were on Friday, Feb. 4, against LeBlond. The girls varsity game was at 6 p.m. and the boys varsity game followed; coronation took place before the first game.

The freshman attendant was Allie Moore, sophomore attendant was Abigail Heastan and junior attendant was Kinsley Grissom. The senior Queen candidates were Ainsley Blake, Jaymee Dennis and Kaylee Safley. The senior King candidates were Marcos Alvarez, Alex Fitzgerald and Colton Schmitz. The students of Savannah High School had the option to vote for their King and Queen candidate. Congratulations to Marcos Alvarez and Ainsley Blake for winning Courtwarming 2022 King and Queen.

The students and staff had dress-up days throughout the week with a best dressed winner for each day. Monday was Manic Monday - pajama day; Tuesday was Should’ve Been a Cowboy - country attire; Wednesday was Boom Boom Pow - 2000’s attire; Thursday was Funky Town - disco attire; and Friday was Back in Black - black and gold day.

Everyone that wanted to participate posted their pictures to the STUCO social media accounts, using #SHSCW22 to be entered in the best dressed contest each day of Courtwarming week. Monday’s winner was senior Carson Meade, Tuesday’s was freshman Brooke McCartney, Thursday’s was senior Avery Barr.

And with that, the 2022 SHS Winter Courtwarming is over. Congratulations to all the various winners and good job to all who participated in the Savage pride!
