SR3 Curriculum & Instruction Master's Degree Program

Savannah R-III School District recently marked an important milestone with the first meeting of its inaugural Master’s Cohort, a new district-led professional learning initiative designed to strengthen instruction and leadership across the district.

The cohort is part of a two-year master’s program created to deepen instructional expertise while building leadership capacity among participating educators. Through focused coursework and collaboration, participants will strengthen their understanding of teaching, learning, and school systems—work that directly supports improved student outcomes.

The program was spearheaded by Superintendent Dr. Hansen as a long-term investment in both educators and students. By developing advanced learning opportunities within the district, Savannah R-III can keep professional growth closely aligned with classroom practice and district priorities.

What makes this program especially meaningful is how it is delivered. Courses are taught by district administrators, allowing participants to learn from leaders who know Savannah R-III’s schools, students, and community. This approach ensures learning is practical, relevant, and immediately applicable, while also strengthening professional relationships across buildings.

As educators grow their skills and leadership, the impact extends beyond the cohort itself. Stronger instruction, increased collaboration, and shared understanding across the district help create consistent, high-quality learning experiences for students.

Savannah R-III is proud of this first group of participants and their commitment to two years of learning and professional growth. The district looks forward to the positive and lasting impact this work will have on classrooms and students in the years ahead.

Strong educators. Strong schools. Strong futures for our students.
