Savannah R3’s Building Trades students have officially completed their latest student-built home project — marking a major milestone for a program that recently celebrated 50 years and the completion of its 40th student-built home.
Community members and interested buyers are invited to tour the home during an Open House on Saturday, May 31 from 1:00–4:00 p.m.
The 1,860 square foot home features 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and an open-concept layout designed with both comfort and accessibility in mind. Built by students in Savannah High School’s Building Trades program, the project provided hands-on experience in construction, problem-solving, teamwork, and skilled trades throughout the last three school years.
The home includes several upgraded features, including:
Custom cabinets with soft-close drawers
Large kitchen island with bar-height seating
Electric fireplace and vaulted great room ceiling
Walk-in whirlpool tub and oversized low-curb shower
Extra-wide hallways and pocket doors
Large stamped concrete patio with gas hookup
220V garage wiring for EV charging or tools
Durable exterior siding with a 30-year finish warranty
For five decades, Savannah R3’s Building Trades program has helped students gain valuable real-world experience while constructing quality homes for families in the community. House #40 continues that tradition while showcasing the craftsmanship and attention to detail students have put into this year’s project.
Bids for the home are due by 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 8, 2026. The minimum bid is $400,000.
