❄️☃️ WEATHER REMINDERS ☃️❄️ Given the possibility of inclement weather next week, here are a few reminders: ❄️If you are a parent or guardian in the district, you will receive a call, text, and email informing you of any weather-related closures, bus route changes, or schedule changes. Please ensure your contact information is correct in your parent portal account. ❄️The district will also place a message at savannahr3.com, send out a notification through the Savannah R3 App (free for anyone to download in the Apple and Google Play stores), and post on the district's social media pages. We will also share closure information with area radio and television stations, but please rely on district channels as your primary source. ❄️You will be informed as soon as a decision is made. We always work to make the best decision in the most timely manner, with safety as a top priority. Thank you for your patience as our team evaluates road and weather conditions and forecasts during weather events. ☃️Enjoy your last few days of break! #WeAreSR3 #SR3Family

Have you heard of 'Boxes of Hope'? Each year, our Minnie Cline 5th graders are cleverly paired up with a student from a different 5th-grade class that they don't know very well. Over the next few weeks, they must find ways to get to know each other better. Before school lets out for winter break, the students decorate a shoe box for their partner and fill it with compliments, a poem, a letter of encouragement, an illustration, and a homemade gift. The lessons taught over the course of this project are not ones that can be learned from math worksheets, textbooks, or AR quizzes. #WeAreSR3 #SR3Family

SHS is participating in the Buckle Up Phone Down initiative through the Missouri Department of Transportation. The challenge is simple: when you get into any vehicle, buckle up your safety belt. If you are a driver, put the cell phone down. Turn it off if you have to. Every trip, every time! Accept the challenge and challenge a friend, relative or members of your community to buckle their seat belts and put their phones down while driving. We are asking everyone to take the pledge to buckle up and put their phone down while driving! Also, discuss the importance of putting phones down while driving with your kids The community in our area with the most pledges can win $3,500 for our school! https://www.savemolives.com/mcrs/AAAShowdown
