I am staying connected through phone calls and texts, social media, emails, google chats, etc. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO SHARE? I know the uncertainty can be overwhelming. We truly are all in this together so just try to remember to be patient and be kind. Reach out to your safety net (teachers, counselors, friends, family, etc) anytime you need to. #SavageNation #SR3

Lots of zoom and facetime hangouts IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO SHARE? Even though everything is closed and you can't see friends, make the most of it. Play games with family, get creative, read a book, or bake. When this is over, I can't WAIT to see you all! Stay safe and healthy. #SavageNation #SR3

Through our Parents as Teachers of Andrew County Facebook page, aslo making lots of phone calls and sending texts to check in with families IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO SHARE? Parents as Teachers may soon have the option to do virtual visits (so cool)! We are currently learning more about this daily and want to try it very soon. #SavageNation #SR3

We asked SR3 staff how they are handling this new reality. Here's what we learned... NAME: Amanda Boyer ROLE AT SR3: SHS Lit & Comp Teacher HOW ARE YOU STAYING CONNECTED? I am using Canvas and Email all day! I have created discussions on Canvas for my students along with videos to check in and explain things a bit. Through Canvas I have made instructional videos and posted them to help kids with past assignments. This allows them to hear my explanations and see what they're working on with me. We are also video conferencing with our administration and departments. The conversations back and forth are positive, hopeful, and focused on doing what is best for our students. I hate that staying away is what is best right now, but we are all doing a great job of staying connected! IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO SHARE? I get so excited when I get a message from a student. They have been replying to my video check-in discussions and talking about our activities. In all that is going on, it is so nice to have those moments of connection with each other. I miss seeing all their smiling faces, but I'm so grateful that we are able to connect from our homes where we can all stay healthy! #SavageNation #SR3

I'm trying to learn how to make YouTube videos by watching YouTube videos about making YouTube videos. Any advice would be welcome. However, I'm not spending $1000 on equipment and apparently, that is what it takes to make a good YouTube video. #SavageNation #SR3

We recently asked SR3 staff how they are handling this new reality. Here's what we learned... NAME: Shannon Bush ROLE AT SR3: 6th grade ELA HOW ARE YOU STAYING CONNECTED? I am staying connected to my friends and family via text, email, and phone calls. I am staying connected to the world by watching the news on tv and reading online news resources. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO SHARE?I have found that this has been a great time to do things with my family that we don't always have the opportunity to do. As you can see in my picture, my kids and I get to do our school work together now. We have also enjoyed baking, playing board games, and spending time outside(when the weather cooperates). This is the perfect time to appreciate the small things in life! #SavageNation #SR3
